What is a Second Story Ambassador?
Ambassadors are people who have attended an Open Door Information Session and want to help further the mission and vital work of Second Story. Ambassadors are an integral part of the Second Story community.
What are some ways Ambassadors help advance Second Story’s mission?
- Invite at least five people to a future Open Door Information Session. They may be friends, co-workers, family, neighbors, civic groups, church members, or anyone who might be interested!
- Invite Second Story to your church, civic group, book club, or other gathering to provide a private Open Door Information Session. The session does not have to be a full hour and can also be delivered virtually.
- With the help of Second Story staff, organize a private, in-person tour of one of Second Story’s programs.
- Increase our visibility on social media platforms by liking and sharing our posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Learn more about how you can be a voice for Second Story here.
- Share our podcast called “Second Stories.” You can find this on our website and most listening platforms.
- Participate in and help promote Second Story’s “Do What You Love Challenge,” which launches each May. Find more information here.
- Join the 2S Task Force here and help spread the word when needs arise.
- Serve as a Table Host at our annual fundraising breakfast (typically in October).
Do I need to do EVERYTHING on this list to be an Ambassador?
There is no “right way” to serve as an Ambassador! We encourage you to choose the activities that work best for YOU. Each one is instrumental in supporting our mission and we greatly appreciate your support!
Do I need to ask people for donations?
While we cannot sustain our programs without our generous donors, Ambassadors are not required to fundraise on behalf of Second Story. However, if you feel comfortable doing so, we welcome your participation. For more information on fundraising, please contact our Vice President of Development.
